About Our Spaces

Stelo offers two unique, inspiring environments in Oregon. Our art gallery in downtown Portland and our 85 acre forest at Camp Colton. Each is designed to foster creativity, learning, and community. We provide the space and support to compliment your expertise and vision.

Located in downtown Portland, our gallery and flexible event space is in the hub of the city's creative community. It's an ideal setting for intimate workshops, lectures, and skill-sharing sessions.

  • Capacity: Our gallery accommodates up to 40 people for a seated workshop.

  • Atmosphere: The space offers a clean, modern, and inspiring environment, surrounded by contemporary art exhibitions.

  • Amenities: We provide flexible seating and tables, a presentation monitor, basic A/V capabilities, kitchenette, and moving walls to set up the space how you envision it. This space is also ADA accessible.

We are always looking for new voices and ideas. Whether you're an artist, writer, healer, or maker, if you have a skill to share, we want to hear from you. We are particularly interested in proposals that align with our values of community, collaboration, and creative exploration.

Camp Colton - Colton, OR

Immerse your participants in nature at our scenic 85-acre forest. Located just an hour from Portland, Camp Colton is a restorative retreat perfect for workshops that benefit from tranquility, natural light, and the great outdoors.

  • Capacity: Our spaces can accommodate day events for up to 250 people. For overnight retreats, we provide cozy lodging for up to 40 guests.

  • Atmosphere: Experience a serene, rustic environment surrounded by old-growth forest. Features include a historic sanctuary, a renovated gathering hall, and multiple outdoor gathering areas.

  • Amenities: We offer various indoor workshop spaces, including a screen printing studio and letterpress studio, and on-site lodging options.

We've been honored to host a diverse range of workshops that reflect our mission and fosters creative exploration. Here are a few examples:

At Stelo Arts Gallery:

  • Geology Talk with Ian Madin: Explore Oregon's epic geologic formation through engaging stories and a memorable watermelon tectonic demonstration.

  • Project Hope: A two-day filmmaking and networking event for Oregon veterans to tell their stories and connect with the creative industry.

  • Writing Through Relationship: Explore collaborative storytelling and shared perspectives through a series of guided, back-and-forth writing exercises.

At Camp Colton:

  • Screen Printing Workshop: A hands-on screen printing immersion, where you'll design, expose, and print your own creations.

  • Summercraft Workshop: A creative retreat offering various craft intensives including: Basketry, Stained Glass Panels, and Bench Making

  • Pigment-Making & Natural Dyes: Immerse yourself in the ancient art of pigment-making, creating your own palette sourced from the nature.
